The year? 1995. The place? A garden centre in the heart of Barcelona
We’ve always aimed to be one step ahead of existing solutions.
That’s why, when we first opened our doors almost 30 years ago on Passeig de Maragall, nobody could pass by without stopping to visit this lush spot in the heart of the urban jungle that is Barcelona.
But when they stepped into the space, not only did they find plants, but also a holistic design service for gardens, terraces and a full range of outdoor spaces.
At Arborètum we’re extremely proud to have coined the term “exterior design”, because creating an outdoor space is much more than just putting together some plants and furniture.
For us, exterior design is synonymous with crafting spaces that are filled with happiness and meaning. A space that is the pride of your home. The place where everyone wants to come to spend a summer evening or a sunny midday in winter.

Arborètum is staffed by 15 professionals, and we can assure you that whoever joins our team is here to stay.
We take a family-like approach to our business: we know our team inside out, we focus on our customers and we guarantee the quality of the brands we distribute.
Before we start offering a furniture brand, there’s a tremendous process of symbiosis where both companies make sure that we align in terms of design, quality and innovation.

What it’s like to work with us
1 // Visit the showroom
We have more than 600 m² of showroom space on Carrer Ganduxer. Arrange a visit if you want to see everything we have to offer and have our undivided attention.
Here you’ll find furniture that you won’t see anywhere else. Give it a try and experience the quality of life it can offer you.
We’ll discuss your needs and arrange to come to your home to take measurements.
2 // Taking measurements
We’ll take a look at your space, take lots of pictures and talk to you about what you’re looking for and your particular situation.
Rest assured that we’ll already have lots of ideas brewing to help you turn your space into the most special spot in your home.
3 // Design proposal
We’ll start shaping your design, sketching ideas, allocating costs based on your priorities and having as much fun as little kids thinking about all that we can do for you.
We’ll send you a budget that includes everything you need, without you having to worry about contracting anything else yourself.
4 // We bring it to life
The change is complete, not only in terms of aesthetics, but also in terms of comfort: where before you were bothered by the wind and the sun, now you’ll be able to enjoy a place to relax and unwind. We’ve improved the views from both inside and outside the house.
Now, this space speaks to you, your lifestyle and your personality.
Meet the team
Although there are 15 professionals on the Arborètum team, the ones you’ll interact with the most are Xavi, Jaume and Paco.
From left to right:
Xavi is the creative one, the one who will come to your home and make sure we know exactly what you want. He’s the director of all the projects.
Jaume is the one who is always in the showroom helping clients. He’s the one who picks out the best furniture and talks to the brands we work with.
And Paco is the one who draws up the designs, the man behind the budgets and the coordination of the works.
